The Magic of Upcycling: Vintage Linen

Many of us are holding onto heritage tablecloths, napkins, handkerchiefs and/or doilies that we do not use and yet feel reluctant to donate or otherwise let go of. The magic of upcycling can transform them into exciting new expressions. 

In this workshop we will learn the basic techniques of re-imaginging these heirloom items and then making them into a variety of potential items, including a wall hanging, pillow cover, quilt, or tunic top. All tools and additional materials will be provided. 

Prerequisites:

• This workshop is for experienced sewers only.

Participants must bring:

• Familial/heritage/vintage linens (typically linen or cotton fabric). Examples include tablecloths, napkins, handkerchiefs and doilies. The more items you bring, them greater variety of projects you will have to choose from.
• Your own snacks and bag lunch. There is a nearby cafe if needed.
